In 2016, NMGC’s parent company, Emera, created a $5 million economic development fund that expired at the end of 2020. 

Taking a broad-based approach, each year a diverse group of recipients was chosen -- including educational and innovation labs, business incubators and economic development groups throughout the state -- as well as groups that promote economic development through non-traditional programs that are critical to the culture and lifestyle that makes New Mexico unique.
