NMGC has transitioned our payment vendor from Speedpay to Paymentus. See below for changes that might impact you.

Fees have changed. All one-time and recurring payments made directly from a bank account (ACH) will not incur any charges for all customers. All other payment methods will incur a fee of $1.75 for residential customers and 2.95% for non-residential customers.

Customers who have signed up for autopay through Speedpay will only need to change their password and all other information will be available in Paymentus. Customers who signed up through NMGC Bank Draft and did not have a profile in Speedpay do not need to take any actions and autodrafts will continue as usual.

Customers who are not on autopay will need to re-register. Anyone who had a Speedpay profile and wallets saved but were not set up for recurring payments will need to create a new profile and re-enter their payment info. You can do that by clicking “Pay Electronically” below.
Fees
Please note that fees have changed. All one-time and recurring payments made directly from a bank account (ACH) will not incur any charges. All other payment methods will incur a fee of $1.75 for residential customers and 2.95% for non-residential customers.
One-Time Electronic Payment
Need to pay quickly? Make a one-time gas payment directly from your checking or savings account with no transaction fee.
Payments made by 6 p.m. (Mountain Time) will be credited to your account for the next business day.
Note: Your financial institution may take up to 72 to hours process your payment. You can view your electronic payments by clicking the “View My Bill Payments” option on your Manage My Account Homepage.
Credit and Debit Card and Digital Wallet Payment
Pay your way – fast and secure. Visa, Mastercard, and American Express credit and debit cards are accepted. Prefer a digital wallet? You can also pay securely using PayPal, PayPal Credit, Venmo or GooglePay.
Please note: Autopay and one-time payments using your credit or debit card will incur a transaction fee.
AutoPay Through Paymentus
You can enroll in automatic payments by logging into the Paymentus portal and using:
- a debit or credit card
- a digital wallet
- a checking or savings account

AutoPay Through NMGC
Set up recurring payments directly with NMGC and pay your gas bill every month by having your payments automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account, free of charge.
To set up AutoPay directly with NMGC, please complete and sign an Automatic Authorization Agreement. For a copy of the form, click here to download a pdf copy, or email Customer Service to have an authorization form sent to you.
For payments deducted from your checking account, attach a voided check to your form. For payments deducted from your savings account, attach a deposit slip. Mail the Automatic Authorization Agreement and voided check or deposit slip to:

When Will It Start?
Setting up the automatic process at your bank or credit union may take up to six weeks, so we recommend you continue to pay your current balances on your gas bill by the due date until the direct automatic withdrawal process begins. You’ll know it has gone into effect when you see the “draft” message on your gas bill.
To Make Changes
You may change or update your bank or account information please call Customer Service at 1-888-664-2726. Please note that if you have a withdrawal (draft) already pending, it will be processed from the previous bank and account number unless you call us by 6 p.m. the day before the payment date noted on your bill.

What is Paymentus?
Paymentus is an independent company providing online bill payment and bill presentment services to more than 450 clients in 48 states. They are recognized as one of the leaders of billing and payment solutions in North America.

What is changing?
Paymentus has replaced Speedpay as NMGC’s credit/debit card and online payment vendor. This change gives customers a broader range of payment options and improves the in-person payment experience at any NMGC walk-in payment office.
The new payment portal offers free one-time and recurring ACH payments for all customers. All ACH payments will be processed through Paymentus.
All other payment methods incur a fee. For residential customers the fee is $1.75. Non-residential customers are charged 2.95% of the transaction total.
Will my current profile with Speedpay roll over to Paymentus?
If you are set up for auto bank draft or recurring payments, then your profile and payment method information will roll over to Paymentus, but you will need to reset your password during your first login. Your recurring payments will continue as usual even if you don't take any action.
All other users will need to create a new profile, add their payment information and select their payment options.

If I make a payment through Paymentus, what will I see on my bank statement?
Payments made to NMGC through Paymentus wills show up on bank statements as “Pmentus NMGas Co.”
Will I still be able to pay my bill over the phone or speak with an NMGC customer service representative?
Yes. Customer Service Representatives can answer any questions about your bill or take a payment over the phone. You can call 1-888-664-2726 from Monday to Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Can I still mail my payment?
Yes. When mailing in your payment, please use the return envelope and payment stub to ensure prompt processing.
Can I still pay my bill in person at your office?
Yes. Our customer service representatives can take payments at any of our 22 walk-in offices across New Mexico. Customers will use a device that allows them to insert, tap or swipe their card. A full list of our payment offices can be found here.
Can I still make my payment at a Western Union location?
Yes. Payments can still be made at Western Union locations. Payments made through Western Union will incur a fee.
Will my bill change?
No. Your bill format, look and design will remain the same.
What if I don’t want to create an account with Paymentus?
Paymentus will offer a feature called “Make A One-Time Payment" that allows for a quick payment without having to register an account. By selecting “Remember this device,” Paymentus will securely save your payment details so you won’t need to enter them again.
Can I pay my bill online at any time?
Yes. Paymentus offers 24 hour service/7days a week. You can pay online using a credit card, debit card, electronic check (eCheck), or digital wallet.
Do I need to provide my email address if I make a one-time payment online?
Yes. Your email address is required for you to receive a payment receipt.
I want to make an online payment. What information do I need?
You will need the following information to make your payment online:
- Email address
- Mailing address zip code
- NMGC 16-digit account number
- Payment method information, such as your credit or debit card number or digital wallet payment information
If you are making your payment using an eCheck, you will need your bank’s routing number and account number.
Is there a limit to how much I can pay when using the online service?
Paymentus can accept residential payments online up to $600. The limit for online commercial and non-residential payments is $20,000.
When will my payment be posted to my account?
Payments made by 6 p.m. (Mountain Time) will be credited to your account for the next business day. Your payment may take up to 72 hours to be processed by your financial institution.
